Monitoring natural regeneration of indigenous species could boost forest restoration much more quickly and effectively than planting. The MV team in Menabe has established a few monitoring plots for these regenerations with local communities in their respective restoration zones. A census of woody species and measurements were made in five 100 m2 plots randomly distributed in each restoration zone.
