The aims of this project is to reinforce Diego’s baobab (Adansonia suarezensis) wild population. In collaboration with Fanamby NGO, Madagasikara Voakajy has lanced the production of Diego’s baobab seedlings and their associated species in Andrafiamena Protected Area.
About 3000 seedlings of Diego’s baobab species were produced in nurseries. Two nurseries were established, in Matsaborimanga and Betsimiranjagna sites. The first plantation campaign was undertaken in March 2021, in Matsaborimanga site. 5000 seedlings of Diego’s baobab associated species were planted. Currently, local communities, Fanamby and Madagasikara Voakajy team have planned to plant 3000 seedlings of Adansonia suarezensis in February 2022.

l and Global Trees Campaign. The implementation of the project is close collaboration with the local community and Fanamby NGO in Andrafiamena Protected Area.
